Meet the previous Chairs of IMA South Africa NPC

Corrie Fourie

National Chair from 2018 - 2023

Connect with Corrie here

Corrie Fourie, the founding member and first Chair of IMA South Africa NPC, has enjoyed a distinguished and varied career.

Currently, he serves as the Manager of Global Accounts at Helms Briscoe. Before this role, he was the Executive Assistant to the Managing Director of Fresenius Kabi South Africa.

Corrie's professional journey began in 1980 as a reservations clerk at the South African Railways. Over 13 years, he rose to the position of Chief Clerk before transitioning to a full-time role in the military within the HR environment, where he served on numerous committees and organised high-profile events.

In 2002, Corrie moved to the corporate private sector, gaining valuable experience in various roles.

By 2009, he had accepted the position of Executive Assistant at Fresenius Kabi South Africa. Throughout his career, Corrie recognised the importance of international networking for professional assistants. His search for an international association led him to EUMA (now IMA), where he became an individual member and was invited as a speaker in the Netherlands.

Impressed by IMA's structure and operations, Corrie attended several international conferences and training sessions, advocating for the establishment of an IMA group in South Africa.

In 2017, after garnering the support of ten members, IMA South Africa was ratified during the International Conference in The Hague.
